Terence Mckenna once said:
“The most important thing a human being can do is make art for another human being.”
Who comes to your mind when you think about creators?
MrBeast? Kim K?
I mostly associate the creator economy with the small YouTube channels that post rain videos for their 30k subscribers than I do any of the big names.
For me, the creator economy means that anyone can make a living from their creative work.
The idea is that every human can make something for other humans. And create a sustainable living that way.
I got interested in creating myself when I realized all the people I looked up to (Jordan Peterson, Naval, Terence Mckenna) were creators…this was how I came to know them in the first place.
Creating content not only provides a way to express yourself and make money. But it can also be the closest thing we currently have to immortality.
I glimpsed this amazing fact when opening YouTube one day, I saw recently uploaded videos from Terence Mckenna on my feed.
Terence Mckenna passed away on the 3rd of April, 2000. Well before YouTube existed (founded 2005).
But the content he created decades ago is remixed, cut, and reuploaded again and again.
A simple search of ‘Terence Mckenna’ on YouTube will bring up hundreds of videos some with millions of views.
This is more reach than most creators who are alive today have.
In a way, Terence Mckenna is still alive because his ideas can still spread. His early work in creating content decentralized his existence from his fragile biological frame to the more resilient network of computers known as the internet.
Creating is a path to self-expression, wealth, and digital immortality.
If the rain YouTube channels prove anything, it’s that you can start simple. You just have to find something you’re passionate about that other humans connect with.
Then simply stay the path.

Take a step towards immortality.

Be a creator, Great article
I would even assert that everyone already IS a creator. It's a matter of whether we are intentional about what we are creating. Great article!
